Forum Rules
For the overall benefit of all and promotion of much fun to be had, please follow the rules. Consequences for breaking said rules can and will include a multiple warnings, temporary banning of your account, and ultimately a ban with no hope of return. This forum is here to help budding and experienced writers alike; it should be a place where people can connect and contribute.
- Harassment will not be tolerated. If you see harassment occurring, if it is happening to you, please report it to nearest admin or moderator. We will assess the situation and handle it as we see fit.
- No spamming or trolling. Spamming in the chit chat board is fine, but if it is ultimately found to be harassment it will be dealt with accordingly.
- Speaking of spamming, don't blatantly advertise your work where it shouldn't be advertised. We are all writers here and all equally excited about our work--about sharing it with others. If your book is finished and out there and you want it to be seen, stick that shameless plug where it belongs: in the Shameless Plug board.
- Please make sure when you ask for help about your book the thread goes in the right board. I don't want to be confusing about this. If your romance happens to also be urban fantasy, then it should go in the romance board; however, if your urban fantasy happens to have romance, it should go in the SciFi/Fantasy board. Now, that's not to say you can't ask for help with the romance bits in the romance board in your urban fantasy, just make sure that's what you're doing with it when you're there. With that being said, if you're ever not certain about where something should go, just ask in the Questions board. And if you put something in the wrong place, notify someone up top; we'll move it for you.
- If you have a story that involves adult content such as romance level fluff, or, if you feel it has too much violence, please place a warning in the title if you post those parts of the story. Unfortunately, in order to keep this forum viewable for all, I cannot allow blatant erotica. That does not mean you can't connect with someone via thread or PM for help. If it were up to me, it'd all be fine and dandy with a warning.
- Critiquing is an important part of the writing process; it can also be staggeringly painful when experienced for the first time, or, the first few times. Be honest, but please be kind to others as well. Keep in mind we are real people across the computer screen who care about our work. As fellow writers, your opinion matters to us. If we find that a critique is obvious harassment towards a writer, we will act accordingly.
- You may have noticed there is a fanfiction section down at the bottom of the board. Yes, I am a fanfiction writer; though, I am slowly pulling away from it as I get more into my original fiction. With that being said, some writers do not consider fanfiction a form of writing; that's ok. That's your opinion and everyone has one... just like eyeballs. Please, like all other harassment on this board, harassment towards those who write fanfiction and want help with it will not be tolerated. Discussions about how you feel on the matter are fine, but if they become too heated the plug will be pulled and the thread closed.
- I should have mentioned no sexual nudity in the adult part.... oh well, no nudity on this forum. Leave that for Skype and Fetlife. Artistic renditions from ancient works are an exception, as I'm pretty sure the forum won't get deleted over those.
- Do not steal anyone's work. This should be obvious, but I'm going to say it anyway. If plagiarism is found to have occurd in any form, even off site, you will be banned and never allowed to return. I'd do more, but that's all I can do--sadly.
- Ultimately--just bee a good person. That's all we really ask, folks.
