Over the years I've gone through a variety of online handles and nicknames. Through the course of it I've dumped a number, gained and few more, and in the process gathered a collage of friends--both writers and not--who I could never be rid of and thank tirelessly for being there for me. The above names listed are the ones that have stuck with me the longest; they are the ones my friends know me by. Very few, aside from my family, husband, children, and my oldest (childhood) friends, call me Katelyn. (That also probably has a lot to do with the fact that I never use my full real name online. Bad mojo, that.) I don't hate my given name, I just like being a bit of a bohemian and a hippie xD.
As for who I am? At this point in time I'm a 30 year old writer living in Atlanta, Ga (Decatur specifically), who adores fanfiction, romance, science fiction, fantasy, and pretty much any good book with a story that really captures me. I've been read to since I was born, reading since I was five, and writing my own stuff since elementary school. But, as for writing for myself--probably since I was 12 or 13. I didn't really get serious about writing until I was in my early 20s and my father-in-law passed away. Twilight, the book, left a huge impression on me--one that willed me to be a writer because, in my humble opinion, if Stephanie Meyer could, I didn't have an excuse not to. (I still hate that book...) It also jump-started my college focus, and sent me squarely to then English department to get my AA in general studies with a focus on lit and creative writing. Currently, I'm working on my BA in English with eventual plans to get my MA in Creative Writing Fiction.
Suffice it to say: I love writing.
I also really love self-publishing. I have one book out through those means on Amazon and Lulu. The second book is coming shortly after that, so, I imagine I'll have a thread in Shameless Plugs soon enough.
At the end of the day, my starting this forum came down to really just wanting to gather my writing friends all in one place together--to let it grow. Also, if you read all of this, you're awesome. xD
