'Ello. I'm Kat, or Katherine, though no one calls me that unless they're really really angry with me.
I'm a writer of fictions, and sometimes, f*ck-tions (which I just made up and am so proud of).
My work is often highly detailed, geared towards immediate awareness of the scenario versus having readers flesh out what they can make of the material.
Some people love it while others find it boring and ill suited for my content.
I'm pretty indifferent to my own works.
I have been told my writing style is similar to Chuck Puhlahniuk, and I take that as a compliment as I enjoy his writing immensely.
I tend to pull from Ray Bradbury, Harlan Ellison, H. P. Lovecraft, and my main squeeze Kurt Vonnegut.
My Science Fiction influences also include Anthony Burgess and Frank Herbert.
My Fantasy influences are more spread out, including George R. R. Martin, Anne Rice, Stephen King, Dean Koontz, and Laurell K. Hamilton.
Because of these varied factors, I tend to entwine the two genres heavily in all my work, though I'm trying to ease up on the heavy lore so not to confuse people. >_>;
No promises though. It's hard to teach an old dog new tricks.
About me otherwise;;
- I'm 26 in July
- I live with my significant other/soulmate/writing partner in Houston, Texas.
- I play a bunch of video games that eat up too much time.
- I like to make playlists.
- I'm currently unpublished, but I have two projects I'm working on. One is a modern urban fiction and the other is an incredible lore heavy science fiction/fantasy piece. I use my Writing Dump tumblr to throw various bits and pieces around if you ever want to see some messed up stuff. >D (But seriously, I don't shy away from the smut and the gore there, so fair warning.)
I'm available on Skype and Steam, though I can be poor company, given how immersed I get in what I'm doing.
